Snow White was performed at the Des Moines Arts Festival on June 27 at 11am and at the Waterworks Park Amphitheater on July 19th at 6pm, July 23rd at 6pm & 7:30pm and August 1st at 2pm & 6pm.
The show featured choreography by Des Moines natives Maryhelen Mayfield and John Dennis, and was originally presented by Iowa Dance Theatre in 2003 to rave reviews. Maryhelen received professional training in Kansas City, Washington, D.C. and New York City. She returned to Kansas City Ballet where she danced with the professional company, then went on to become the director of Greensboro Ballet until her retirement. John received professional training in Chicago. He danced with the Dallas Ballet, then became the director of the School of Greensboro Ballet until his retirement.
