Brett Thompson has been performing with Iowa Dance Theatre since 2009, when she was in Russian. Besides having many roles in Nutcracker – including Rose Queen, Flower Soloist and Merliton, she also participates in Dracula and other Spring Shows. She was co-choreographer for “Can’t Find My Place”, a Hip Hop piece in Iowa Dance Theatre’s Spring Show 2018 – Every Body Dances.
Brett began dancing at the age of 4, studying at Iowa Ballet Academy and Westside Dance Academy. Her main focus is ballet and pointe, but she has also studied jazz, tap, hip hop and modern dance. She has also performed lead roles with Yaro Dance Company. Most recently, she performed with Hurley and Dancers as a guest artist. She has traveled to receive training at the Milwaukee School of Ballet. She is a senior member of Dance Masters of Mid America.
Ms. Thompson is currently a dance instructor at Westside Dance Academy and works as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant full-time.
